Preparing For That Step Back Into The School Routine
As I have been spending this week preparing for my daughters first day back to school, I was reminded about how much work it can be. There is all of the shopping, the prepping, the new routine to adjust to, and the need to adjust your business for the change.
That last point is a big one. While we have spent the summer working around what our children need, it’s now time to make that seasonal readjustment and that week or two before that F-Day (first day) can be a busy one. While for some of us it is too late to change how hectic our schedules are, here are some ideas that you can try using next year.
Plan Ahead
Everything from clothes shopping to any doctor appointments that are required before your child can go back to school can be done early on, right after summer starts instead of right before it is supposed to begin again.
While the real deals for school supplies won’t start until mid summer or later, by staying on top of when the deals start popping up will give you the opportunity to buy school supplies before that last week school rush begins. For a good idea of when it is time to shop you should keep an eye on any of the circulars that the stores in your area might release
As you spread out these necessities over summer break, the time spent taking care of everything will feel much less invasive than if you had simply bumped it all into the week before school starts.
Rearrange, Reorganize, Prepare
For those unavoidable last minute requirements (that you might have a little advanced notice for) you can also split a some of the tasks that demand your attention over a period of days. While some daily needs might go unmet for a day or two (as many as you need to prepare for your kids to return to school), this will allow you to get some of those less-than-daily tasks out of the way before hand.
If the back to school season is particularly hard on you, consider taking a short vacation from your business. While this isn’t currently an option for some mompreneurs, with the help of an employee (or freelancer) it might be possible.

I guess its a really hassle when the things you want to be ready before the F-day are not yet set on their places. But an advance planning ahead will make a little bit lighter.
Cheers
